from one massive piece of redwood, while tons of
boulders were hauled in to build the massive fire-
places. There’s a slice of a 14-foot diameter tree
trunk embedded into the main dining room floor.
Artifacts of its past are scattered throughout
the property and in the inn itself. Our room –
called the chute room – used pieces of the origi-
nal chute once anchored directly in front of the
main house. This combination of rich history, an
extraordinary setting, and bold style makes the
Inn a California treasure.
