as the limited staff scrambled to keep up with or-
ders from the many full tables nearby..
We didn’t let a little frostbite ruin our nice din-
ner. Ron relished his locally caught Petrale sole
and crab with green onion basmati rice, Swiss
chard, and a delicious saffron cream sauce. Mary
felt the urge for beef and ordered steak with
chimichurri sauce, fries, and onion rings. It was
tasty, but not quite up to the wood-fired versions
we loved in Argentina.
We passed on dessert and quickly made the
short walk back to our cozy room. We were
grateful for the warmth of the fireplace. With a
glass of wine, we gazed contentedly and comfort-
ably at the sparkling lights on the Noyo Harbor
Bridge through the balcony door’s double-paned
windows.
