Beautiful pastures covered with wildflowers
in the Radovljica area.
There are geographic and historical explanations for Slove-
nian temperament. Here’s a brief primer.
Slovenia is a small country with a big heart. It covers
around 8,000 square miles with a population of slightly
more than two million. For comparison, that’s about the
size of New Jersey with only a quarter of the residents.
Although their language is kin with Slavic people from the
Balkan Peninsula, the Slovenians are culturally an Alpine
folk with much in common with northern Italians, southern
Germans, and the Swiss.
