ing giant succulents and rare trees. In the nursery
sales area, Mary looked longingly at some rare
Australian shrubs, knowing that they probably
wouldn’t survive in the back of our Lexus during
our 15-night trip. Plantless, but happy with a
“plant fix,” we drove on to nearby Santa Barbara.
