Tapas Bars

We could always spot a great tapas bar or
restaurant by the crowds that packed them by
9:30 p.m. Fortunately tapas lovers move from
bar to bar, to enjoy each ones specialty. As
crowds ebb and flow, you can almost always el-
bow your way to the bar or a table over the
course of a night’s tapas crawl.
During our evening tour, we joined throngs
of folks seeking tapas, a light bite that origi-
nated in peasant taverns of old. Our stops in-
cluded well-known Madrid tapas bars famous
for decades for unique or especially well-pre-
pared dishes. Here are three of our favorites.
