                                                                   Of all the experiences I had anticipated in
                                                                   Scotland, bumping and (gear) grinding my

                                                                   wearing comedian riding shotgun had honestly
                                                                   never crossed my mind.

                                                                 The sun was shining as I boarded the train to
                                                                 Oceanside, a mere hour from home. I desperately
                                                                 needed a quick solo getaway, and O’Side (as lo-
                                                                 cals say) ticked my boxes.

                                                                  When I told my fellow San Diegan that I was
                                                                  choosing Los Angeles for my annual birthday
                                                                  jaunt, she immediately replied, “That sounds
