We still have that magic touch!
We’re thrilled to share that Wine Dine & Travel Magazine earned seven awards for excellence at this year’s San Diego Press Club Awards — a proud moment for our entire team and loyal readers around the world.
We brought home two First-Place honors:
Best International Feature Story — “Discovering Scotland” https://www.winedineandtravel.com/wdt/scotland/
Judge’s Comment:
“Beautifully described without ever being overwrought — a wonderfully crafted travelogue of the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Despite relentless rain and sideways wind-swept downpours, the writers turned the weather into a charming character in their adventure. Stunning photography — the waterfall shot, especially, is not an easy feat in those conditions.”
Best Entertainment Website: https://winedineandtravel.com/
We’re especially proud of this honor — one we’ve been fortunate to receive multiple times. This award also holds personal meaning. I launched my digital publishing career in the mid-1990s by building San Diego Magazine’s website — the first-ever city-magazine site. That pioneering effort earned the San Diego Press Club’s first online award for Best Information Website, as well an early Webby Award.
To see Wine Dine & Travel website recognized again in this category is like coming full circle — and a reminder that great storytelling evolves, but its spirit remains the same.
We also earned awards in additional multiple categories, including Best Column, Best Series, Best Restaurant Review, and our feature “Discovering Thailand.” https://www.winedineandtravel.com/wdt/thailand/
These accolades are especially meaningful as we look ahead to Wine Dine & Travel’s evolution.
We’re grateful our Scotland adventure resonated with readers and judges alike. Here’s a glimpse of its beauty and weather challenges in this video of our visit to Skara Brae.
Thank you for traveling the world with us. The journey continues.
